As a former leader of the Public Schools Education Foundation, I have been deeply involved in making our local public schools as strong as possible for all students.
During this time, I got to know Charles Stone quite well. Charles got involved early on in the mission to improve our public schools. He has always championed an equitable fundraising model throughout our district. He was the first member of Belmont Council to understand the symbiotic relationship between our town and our schools. Under his leadership, a 2x2x2 committee was formed between Belmont, Redwood City and BRSSD. Charles understood that not having Redwood Shores’ perspective represented at these committee meetings would be a mistake. He understands that everyone needs a seat at the table and that all perspectives need to be considered.
Charles (and former Mayor Eric Reed) also offered to upgrade our sports complex so that we use hundreds of thousands of gallons less water while our youngsters enjoy many more days off the fields.
I enthusiastically endorse Charles for the position of County Supervisor and encourage voters in San Mateo, Foster City and Belmont to vote for him.
