Panchkula, December 30
A private school here alleged that its accountant committed Rs50 lakh fraud with the institution. Upon complaint from the principal of Sky School, the police hired the accountant, Mukesh Kumar.
âThe school receives fees in the form of money from parents. Part of the fees and other amounts are regularly deposited by the school into a current bank account. The funds were deposited by Kakkar. Bank officials gave us duly stamped and signed receipts for the amount deposited in cash. These receipts are available from us as proof. The bank has also issued us an account statement from time to time, âthe FIR reads, quoting the complainant, Amandeep Singh.
âOn December 18, we were shocked to learn that the bank account did not have enough funds to honor a salary check,â he says.
âWe called Kakkar to investigate the matter. He initially left the school premises saying he had a medical problem. He later turned off his cell phone. During the verification, we found that the receipts for the money deposited with the account statement given to us did not correspond to the actual credits to the bank, âindicates the FIR.
