Jane Long-Haggerty, managing partner of Long-Haggerty Robertson Professional Chartered Accountants of downtown Penticton, received a prestigious award from her peers.

The award follows Jane and Long-Haggerty hosting their second annual food bank drive for tax season, where people can donate to the food bank and receive 10% off the cost of services personal tax.

Last year, with the help of the community, the downtown Penticton office raised over 1,000 pounds of food and $740 in cash donations.

For Jane’s award, she was recognized by the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia with the Early Achievement Award.

The award honors members who distinguish themselves early in their CPA career through their professional accomplishments and/or volunteer service, with an emphasis on professional accomplishments.

“Jane is recognized for her impact on the community, her inspirational leadership for future CPAs, and for increasing the visibility of the CPA profession through her reputation for excellence with clients,” said the award.

Throughout his career, Long-Haggerty has earned an outstanding reputation for the development of his people, his exceptional interpersonal skills and his technical know-how in the field of accounting.

She extends the dedication she has been recognized for in her career to her community as well as volunteering on various boards coaching football and organizing food banks and toy drives to help her community. Under his leadership, Long-Haggerty Robertson LLP is committed to giving back at least 5% of profits to the community and, since its inception in October 2020, has more than doubled that contribution.

“Jane works hard to make a difference both in her professional life and in her community. She is an inspiration to other young professionals in the community,” said Lori Mathison, President and CEO of CPABC.

Jane will be recognized for her business leadership on International Women’s Day on March 8 as well as for her service during National Volunteer Week in April.
